knowledg.io Is Now Knolo.io

If you searched for knowledg.io and landed here: yes, this is the same product. Same team, same mission, same workspace. We just changed the name. And I want to explain why, not with a press release, but honestly.

Why We Called It knowledg.io in the First Place

When we started building, the product was a knowledge base. You'd upload documents, connect your data, and an AI assistant would answer questions from it. The name made sense at the time. "Knowledge" was literally what it stored.

We pitched it on Reddit under that name. Built the first version under that name. Got our first users under that name.

But two things happened.

First, nobody could spell it. Knowledg.io drops the "e," which looks clever on a whiteboard and terrible in a URL. Every time someone tried to find us, they typed knowledge.io (which goes somewhere else), or knowledgio.com (also not us), or just gave up. We were losing people before they even landed on the page.

Second, and more importantly: the product stopped being a knowledge base.

What the Product Actually Became

At some point in the last year, we stopped building a smarter way to store documents and started building something different. A workspace where you can build your own AI system.

Not use someone else's AI system. Build your own.

You describe what you need, and the workspace builds it for you. Agents that run on a schedule. Knowledge bases that update themselves. Automations connected to 3,000+ tools via Pipedream and our Discover API, where agents can install their own integrations from any REST API without you touching a config file.

None of that is a knowledge base. But all of it was being called one.

We kept getting questions like "wait, is this just a RAG tool?" or "so it's like a smarter Notion?" We'd spend five minutes on the explanation. By the time we finished, we'd lost them.

The name was doing active damage to how people understood the product.

What "Knolo" Actually Means

Knolo is short for "know" and "flow." Knowledge in motion. Not stored and forgotten, actually working.

It's also just a name you can say out loud without spelling it. Knolo. One word, four letters, no missing vowels.

We went through a lot of options before landing here. Most were either taken, hard to pronounce in other languages, or felt like we were trying too hard to sound like an AI company. Knolo felt like something you'd actually tell a friend about.

"I use knolo for that." That's the sentence we were optimizing for.

What Hasn't Changed

I know what you're thinking. You've seen this before. Google rebrands Bard to Gemini and changes nothing underneath. Integromat becomes Make and it's mostly a fresh coat of paint. The community is rightly skeptical of rebrands that are really just marketing moves.

So let me be specific.

The mission is the same. We're building a workspace where anyone, not just developers, not just people who understand workflow nodes, can build their own AI system. That hasn't changed by a single word.

The product is the same too. Your spaces, your agents, your minds, your automations. All of it is exactly where you left it. Nothing migrated, nothing broke, nothing changed in the interface.

Pricing didn't change either. Credit-based, buy what you need. No subscription, no per-task counting, no surprise bills at the end of the month.

And it's still the same people building it. Same Slack where you can reach us. Same commitment to no-code, no-nodes, no local setup.

What changed: the domain (knolo.io), the logo, and the name.

What's Actually New

The rebrand isn't just cosmetic, though. We used it as a forcing function to ship some things we'd been sitting on.

The Discover API is live. This is the part I'm most excited about. Your agents can now install their own integrations from any REST API on the fly. You describe what you want to connect, and the agent figures out how to connect it. No Zapier. No n8n nodes. No developer. The agent does the plumbing.

We also shipped a browser extension that brings your knowledge base to every tab you have open. You're reading a competitor's pricing page, you open the extension, and your own research, notes, and context are right there. Grounded in your knowledge, not the internet.

And the workspace itself is faster. We've been quiet about infrastructure work for the last few months, but it shows up in load times and agent run speeds.
